Geoff Cordell, MPhil
Geoff Cordell has 30 years' experience as a development manager and practitioner. He has served as the Executive Director of ChildHope UK and also of Terre des hommes UK. As a country director for NGOs, he worked in Bangladesh, India, Israel/ Palestine, Sri Lanka, South Sudan, and Uganda, and also served as a Desk Officer for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
His primary responsibilities have included managing the overall operations and resources of the NGOs, acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors and operations, being the public face of the organisation, defining and managing a timely, pertinent, effective, and efficient response to the development and humanitarian needs of the country, organisational change, restructuring and positioning for leverage and opportunity.
Geoff established Social Development Consulting in 2004 and has consulted from that date. As a consultant, he has worked on a wide range of issues within the categories of organisational development and capacity building. They include rapid needs assessments, organisational reviews, and capacity building through training and policy development.
Geoff is currently the chair of the board of Non-Executive Directors of Choose Love, a London-based international humanitarian response organisation working on behalf of people on the move.
