Dr Khaled Abu Ali

 

Social Development Consulting (SDC) is delighted to welcome Dr Khaled Abu Ali as an associate consultant. Dr Khaled Abu Ali is a distinguished public health expert with over 24 years of experience in epidemiology, health programme management, and academic teaching. He holds a Doctor of Public Health specializing in epidemiology from Alexandria University, complemented by a Master's degree in Public Health from Al-Quds University. Throughout his career, Khaled has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in various roles, including Senior Epidemiologist at the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Consultant for the World Health Organization, and Assistant Professor at the University College of Science and Technology. He has managed health, nutrition, and WASH projects, coordinated responses to health crises, and designed impactful monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure program effectiveness.

Khaled has led several rapid health assessments during emergencies, such as the 2021 escalation in Gaza, focusing on mental health and chronic disease management. His work is characterized by a commitment to inclusivity, community engagement, and evidence-based interventions. As a consultant, Khaled has developed national guidelines for communicable disease surveillance, conducted safeguarding reviews, and provided technical support in infection prevention and patient safety. He has received multiple grants for research on health service delivery in crisis settings and has published extensively in his field. Khaled’s knowledge and leadership will be at a premium as Gaza begins the process of infrastructural, organisational and health systems rebuilding.
